This Christmas everyone is invited to a Royal Ball at the Belgrade Theatre, a Christmas Ball with the nations favourite panto, Cinderella. This wonderful rags-to-riches tale is guaranteed to delight all the family and bring a touch of magic and make-believe to your festive celebrations.

I joined Cinderella on her quest to win the heart of the dashing Prince Charming, with a little help from her best friend Buttons and the charming Fairy Godmother. But did her wicked Ugly Sisters ruin her chances of happiness and love as the clock was about to strike midnight? Did the beautiful Cinders manage to win the Prince’s love before the magic spell ran out?

Once again written and directed by Iain Lauchlan, appearing as Dyspepsia – one of the two outrageously comic sisters, the panto featured spectacular sets, lavish costumes and the usual sing-along-songs that make the annual trip to the Belgrade Theatre a truly unmissable Christmas treat.

The show was excellent from start to finish. The most traditional and popular of all the Christmas Pantomimes, it had everything you have come to expect from this seasonal classic fairy tale.

Cinderella can justifiably lay claim to being the most popular of all pantomimes.
What`s On – November 2017

The stars of the show for me were the two ugly sisters. Their outrageous costumes, slapstick comedy and interactions with the audience were side -splitting and hysterical. The hugely talented Craig Hollingsworth as Buttons, appears in the panto for the 6th consecutive year and he was brilliant. His short renditions of Ed Sheeran songs, complete with glasses and ginger wig were hilarious.

There were also plenty of songs for the audience to sing along to and the dancing on stage made for a memorable evening. The rousing Kool and the Gang song, `Celebrations` got the whole theatre singing along. Pantomime was designed as a musical comedy stage production designed for family entertainment, this panto hits all the right Buttons!

This heart – warming story of a poor girl triumphing over hardship is as relevant today as it was when it was first written and its magic continues to weave its way throughout this fabulous panto.

Will Cinders get to the Ball? Will she return before the clock strikes midnight? Will Cinderella end up happy with the Prince? All is revealed in this year`s Belgrade Theatre production of Cinderella.
A Pantomime, not to be missed!
