THE VINCENT HOTEL, SOUTHPORT

Southport a traditional English seaside resort in the North West of England continues to attract thousands of visitors annually because it not only offers some of the best beaches in the country but also fine retail therapy in beautiful surroundings, a number of superb restaurants and quality accommodation to suit all budgets.

I was staying at The Vincent Hotel which is described as a unique lifestyle hotel, restaurant & wedding venue. The Vincent opened its doors in 2008 having been designed by award-winning architects Falconer Chester Hall. Situated on Lord Street, Southport’s very own Parisienne Boulevard.

This modern four-star hotel has fifty-nine individually styled bedrooms located over six floors. The Corner Studios are located in each of the four corners of the Hotel and have the option to interconnect to create even more living space. The Residence even includes a Japanese soaking tub! The Studios overlook Lord Street & Kings Gardens at the front of the Hotel. The Junior Suite has an adjoining lounge and private balcony.

I was met at reception by a gentleman who offered valet parking at the hotels own secure parking facility some streets away which we gratefully accepted after a long drive up to the North West. My room was the best room in the Hotel! I took the lift up to the sixth floor where I noticed a small gym and Beauty parlour. As I opened the door and walked into my room I was blown away. The Penthouse suite is indeed luxurious!

I was told later that The Penthouse was 123sqm of contemporary living space, I didn’t know exactly what that figure meant but it was large! The room also came with its own private bar & lounge area! The En suite bathroom included a double-bath, steam room, rainforest shower & Luxury Bath Robes & Slippers.

As you would expect my room was suitably furnished with a plush super king size bed and luxurious bedding. There was also a useful electronic safe, two 50inch flat screen HD LCD TVs, one each in both the lounge & bedroom, personalised mini- bar, a Nespresso Coffee machines, Tea & Coffee & Chocolate drink sachets, air-conditioning and the much appreciated free Wi-Fi. All rooms across the hotel are non-smoking and room service is available twenty-four hours a day.

Having completed the tour of the expansive room my wife suddenly said that there was more! She pulled back the long drape curtains and we discovered a Rooftop Terrace with a Hot Tub! We quickly stepped outside and took in the spectacular views overlooking the whole of Southport including the Irish Sea!

We later went for a short walk around the town taking in the pier and enjoyed a game of crazy golf, which I lost! but soon returned to enjoy our complimentary cocktails in the Hot Tub looking out over Southport. The sun was shining brightly, and we were soaking up the moment!

The room was not surprisingly, extremely comfortable, and spacious, and I was very pleased that the hotel itself is situated right in the centre of Southport, close to restaurants, beach, pier and all other sights. As I walked back to the hotel after eating at the Auberge restaurant in the evening I was able to take in the beauty of Lord Street under lights. The town is as beautiful at night as it is in the daytime as I could see from our rooftop terrace too.

Breakfast was worth getting up for too, the menu listed a wide choice of options including Greek Yogurt, Granola, Berry Compote, Smashed Avocado, Chilli Flakes, Royal or Florentine Eggs Benedict or Coriander & Poached Eggs on Toast! The choice seemed endless. I opted for the full English Breakfast which set me up nicely for the day ahead.

My stay at The Vincent was a memorable experience, the Penthouse room was stunning. It was very spacious and included everything and more that one could wish for in a hotel room. The En suite bathroom facilities were exceptional, the bedroom luxurious, the private bar & lounge area relaxing but the jewel in the crown for us was the roof top terrace with Hot Tub. We were fortunate that we visited on a hot summers’ day in June and the sun was beating down making the experience so much better.

I would not hesitate to recommend The Vincent Hotel if you are planning to visit Southport or the North West for a holiday, Golf break or a beach visit. The Vincent offers excellent overnight accommodation options, has a superb restaurant in a wonderful traditional seaside location.

Overall, my stay at the Vincent Hotel was comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. The staff, whether at reception or serving at our breakfast table always presented a smart, professional, and efficient service. We enjoyed an excellent stay in extremely relaxed & luxurious surroundings.
